THE MEXICAN HELPS YOU LEARN ENGLISH

As an English language learner who has never been to England( or any other country where the official language is English) and who would like to know how the English talk in an every-day conversation I an trying to see every film in English to help me remember and learn more phrases and words. For that purpose I would recommend The Mexican.

The main roles in the film belong to the Hollywood superstar and sex symbol Brad Pitt and this year's Oscar winner Julia Roberts. The action takes place both in the U.S. and in Mexico. Jerry, the character Brad Pitt is playing, is a member of a mob gang. He has a hard job to do - not only to bring the most wanted and the most valuable gun in the world called the Mexican back to his bosses, but to get out of Mexico alive. His girlfriend, played by Julia Roberts, is against his job and she tries to blackmail him by telling him that she would leave him for good. Nevertheless, Pitt goes to Mexico while Roberts is being kidnapped by a hit man. After a number of complicated situations Pitt finally manages to make a contact with Roberts who at last comes to Mexico but together with a murderer. Having broken the magic spells from the wanted gun they succeed in getting out of Mexico and the mob gang alive.

The stars are at their best, with Pitt proving once again that he is a great actor apart from being the most attractive one and Roberts just confirmed her great acting which brought her the Oscar.

The Mexican is film with very unusual and fast-moving plot and will have you on the edge of your seat throughout.

Although this is a film in American English I find it very useful for non-English speakers. It has many interesting phrases and idioms as well as slang that have different meanings and are used in a totally new way, which we could all benefit from.

This is a great film. Enjoy it.
