Give Us a Chance To Travel

Munich Was The Most
Beautiful Place We Visited

by Bojana Milekić, 16

When somebody mentioned going abroad, a lot of people became excited. It is a very big challenge for all of us. My great dream had always been to go to one of the European countries. I was very lucky and my wish was fulfilled. I travelled to Germany with some pupils from my grammar school.

The first thing which was important to me was our arrival. I was accommodated by a family which consists of two members only - a wife and a husband. They are between fourty and fifty years old and they don't have children, but they love animals very much and so they have four cats.Their house is in a village near the town of Pfaffenhoffen which was the centre of our visit. That town is smaller than Valjevo but it has some more beautiful things. Pffaffenhoffen is 63 km away from Munich.

On the first day we went to Cheemsee, the largest lake in all Bavaria. The main place we visited was a royal castle on an island on this lake. That castle was made in the same way as Versailles in Paris and it reminded me of medieval Germany. At the same time we went to see an old monastery.

In the evening we could talk to German pupils in their Youth Parliament, which is a place where they can play their instruments and rehearse their band. German schools are very different from ours. There are only 20 pupils in a class. Classrooms are bigger and there are TV's, computers and many other pieces of equipment. I liked their canteen very much. In this grammar school there are three large halls: one for basketball, one for volleyball, and one for other sports.

Next day we went to Munich. It was the most beautifull place we had visited. Its centre is very big and there are very old buildings such as the church, the cathedral and the community building. We saw the famous Phinakothek and the Serbian church which is the rendezvous for all the Serbs in this town. On our last day we were able to do some shopping in Munich.

One of very interesting things is that young people can't stay out later than 10:00 p.m. At that time nobody is outside, maybe because Pffaffenhoffen is a small town with only 20 000 inhabitants. They have pubs and discoes, but every night we had to go home very early, which is something that I didn't like.
Everything we saw during that time was very, very impressive to the whole group. My impressions are also deep and strong and they will last for a long time. I have found out that Germany and Munich are perfect places to live in.
