These are the notes from a survey titled PEOPLE
AND THINGS WE APPRECIATE. The interviewees accepted to write about
the positive things in their life with great enthusiasm. We
presume teenagers in other towns or countries will find lots of
things in common.
Here are some of our interviewees:

Bozidar Nestorovic, a
16-year old boy:
Branko, my brother.
He is 10 and he is sometimes very interesting and sometimes very
boring, which usually depends on my mood, but, after all, he is my
brother and I have to teach him everything.
Aca, my school-mate. I spend a lot of time with him
at school, where we talk, laugh, and make jokes. We go home
together, too.
Dragan is my very good friend from my neighbourhood. I
usually wait for bus with him, and then we talk about some
interesting things. On Friday evenings we go to our favourite café,
where we have good fun.
My
room. It is the place where I live (listen to music, read,
sleep) and study. I spend almost all of the time at home in
my room. I take care about it myself, so it is sometimes very
messy; anyway, it looks very attractive because of some other
things (like its atmosphere). Oh, I like my room very much.
Andrijana
Acimovic, a 15-year-old girl:
Jelena. She is my best friend. We go to the
same class and sit together. I can talk to her about everything.
When I have a problem, she helps me. She gives me her support and
understanding. I have known her for many years and she has never
failed me. Jelena is really the best.
My room. I study, sleep and rest
there. That is the place where I can relax and feel good. I can
decorate it to my taste. In that place, nobody disturbs me. I
think that is the room which everybody would like.
Cassette recorder. I like to listen to music when I
am tired. It hels me to relax. The cassesstte recorder takes a
significant place in my life.
Jelena
Ratkovic, a 15-year-old girl:
Andrijana, my best friend. I have known her
since our first class. I knew already then that she would be my
best friend. I can tell her everything and she never gets angry at
me. She always helps me when I need it. She and me are very
similar. We like the same music, food and people. I love her like
a sister. She's really the best.
Telephone.
I like to telephone very much, esepcially when I phone to my
friends. Sometimes I talk too much so that my
parents can't call anyone, and they get very
angry then.
My room. I'm usually in my room when I have free time. I like
to lie down on my bed and listen to music. Then I am completely
relaxed.
Marija
Jankovic, a 16-year old girl
My parents. They are always ready to help
me and protect me.
My brother. I can talk with him about
everything, and we often help each other.
Zlata, my best friend. I share everything with her, from
problems to homework.
My
home. I live there with my parents, grandmother and my brother.
Lingva, Foreign Language School. I can learn many useful
things there.
Economic School. One of the most
important places in my life, I can learn many useful things too.
Those are ecoonomic things that can help me to become someone in
life.
Tijana
Bozic, a 15-year old girl:
My brother, Milos, who can talk with me
about everything, My mother, Mira, who takes care of me and my
brother, My best friend, Ana, whom I adore and who helps me with
everything,
LINGVA School, where I can learn
English, SESTRE ILIC Primary School, where I can meet new
friends,
My dictionary, where I can find some new words that I can't
understand, The pen I am using for writing, the purple one.
Mario Bilav, a
15-year-old boy
Zoran, my coach,
because he is training me, he loves me like a son, and we are good
friends.
My parents. I like them very much and they like me, too. My
mother helps me with my homework, and my father with the sports.
Bane, my best school-mate.
We talk a lot on the phone, usually about sports, school, films. I
don't like him in one thing - sleeping. At school we often have
fights because we don't know what else to do when the teacher is
not in the classroom yet.
Mountains,
where I go hiking and breathe in oxygen.
Sea, where
I can swim, play with a ball in water and windsurf.
TV. I like it because I can see many things on it.
Radio,
because I like music, and if I want music, I just press a button
on the radio and listen to it.
School subjects, because I have to learn. If I want to study
at university, I must have a lot of knowledge. Even though I don't
like to study, and I think nobody likes to study every day, but
for sure we must, whether we like it or not.
