Integrated Use of Internet in ELT Seminar
Lingva, 9 June 2007

The seminar, based on the programme accredited by the Institute for Advancement of Education of the Republic of Serbia (2006-2008), was held by Mirjana Ljiljak-Vukajlović on 9 June 2007 in the multimedia centre of Lingva Language school in Valjevo.

For some of the participants it was the third time that they had taken part in one of the seminars organised by the trainer. A lot of them used computers in their teaching as well; however that use had been mainly limited to the CD-ROM resources and internet downloads printed before classes. They had not directly used the Internet in their teaching before and the purpose of the seminar was to familiarize them with the trainer’s experiences in the area of specific activities, technical requirements and hardware and software costs. Regarding practical applications, the teachers who worked in state schools stated the problem of lack of clear school policy on the use of computer lab, which was used for computer study lessons only in most of schools, while the teachers from private language schools generally enquired about the costs of sofware licences (Microsoft, Hot Potatoes).

The participants’ comments and assessment were very favourable. Each of them received a CD with the complete seminar information and resources.
